Good morning and welcome to the Independent Hostel Guide

Welcome to the Independent Hostel Guide. Ideal for groups, families and individuals.

Use our FREE search facility to find bunkhouses, hostels, backpackers, camping barns and group accommodation in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Europe. Search by name, address or via the maps and you will find accommodation that offers self catering, private rooms and flexible lengths of stay.

This site puts you in direct contact with hostel owners so you can ask questions and make bookings without any fees. Online booking is available for some hostels.

We offer advice for self catering holidays, family holidays and group holidays and articles on remote holidays, long distance paths, national cycle routes, bird watching and family breaks.

New this Month. Chat with Holly when you sign up to our twitter and facebook accounts and get up-to-the minute information on special offers, late availability and competitions.

We pride ourselves on working closely with Independent Hostels UK, VisitBritain, Sustrans, Scottish Independent Hostels, and the Long Distance Walkers Association to bring you quality accommodation in truly unique locations.

If you wish you could put this website in your pocket then you need the Independent Hostel Guide Book, the 2010 edition can be purchased here.
