Kentmere is a quiet, unspoilt valley within the Lake District National Park.
It’s a ramblers’ paradise with woods, fields, lanes, a scattering of traditional lakeland farms and dwellings, and of course the fells with their walks so favoured by Wainwright.
The Lakeland to Lindisfarne Long Distance path passes this way as well as the mountain bikers’ and horse riders’ Coast to Coast.
Kentmere offers plenty of activities which include biking, riding and fishing, but most of all quiet enjoyment.
A pleasant day’s visit can be found at the market town of Kendal and Lake Windermere which are only 20 minutes away.
The recently converted Barn has two sleeping areas, fully fitted kitchen, two showers and toilets.
All you need is your sleeping bag, mattresses provided.
Breakfasts and suppers are available next door at the B&B with notice.
